Gratitude

Our Love and Gratitude to all those who have helped us in this endeavour to share these messages for World Peace.

We offer our deepest love and gratitude to all the great teachers of the East and the West, and to teachers in our times, Sri Anandamayee Ma and Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who have helped us in our spiritual journey.

A special thanks to :

Madeline ko-i Bastis for use of the phrases of the metta meditation from her book, Peaceful Dwelling: meditations for healing and living. Permission given by Charles E. Tuttle Co., Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts and Tokyo, Japan.

Thich Nhat Hanh, whose thoughts led us to incorporate the bell into our light meditation. “A bell is a bodhisattva, it helps us to wake up,” says Thich Nhat Hanh. “Listen, listen, this wonderful sound brings me back to my true self”.

All the great masters who have inspired the light meditation.

Amar Haldipur of Sangeet Audio Visual and sound engineer Amey Londhe, for their unstinted support in the recording of the CDs and for the music which leads us from the light meditation into silence.

The CD "Love, Peace, Joy" has track 2 titled MANGALAM. Though this was recorded by us, the idea is inspired from Ravi Shankar's CD Chants...track 11.

Our gratitude to the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo ashram whose thoughts inspired the Vision of Sanctuary.

We wish to thank Margaret Laulor for the name BANSURI which was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s connection with the flute, as expressed in his poem ‘Thou hast made me endless’, from his well known work Gitanjali. She gave us the name ‘Bansuri’ meaning flute, to remind us always to be mere instruments in the hands of the Divine, doing the Divine Will. Her favourite quotation is “Only let me make myself simple and straight like a flute of reed for Thee to fill with music.”

Margaret says, she has been deeply drawn to the Indian thought “to look inward and not as much outward as we do in the western world.” She has dedicated her life to her Gurus and to India. Truly her body is western but her soul is Indian and we in India have been blessed to have her in our midst.

We also owe our deepest gratitude to our Advisor, Lalitha Krishnan a very dear friend, who has been the inspiration and spirit behind the Bansuri Meditation CDs and Sanctuary. She, though born in India, accepted the call to live a way of life, both spiritually challenging and spiritually fulfilling, a life’s work that took her all over the world. Sanctuary, the Meditation Centre, continues under her inspiration, and as the members learn to introspect about their lives, they experience a gradual inner transformation.

All the members have contributed sincerely in their unique ways and in turn have benefited by their association with Sanctuary.
